Day 1,

Touch down at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. took a 3 hours bus ride to reach our hotel. Had fever, bad sore throat and cough. its a terrible feeling during the ride.

Can't remember the Hotel name but then its not those typical hotel we can find in Singapore. Its like a 2 story house with many many rooms and the owner will treat you like their own family member. Its really nice of them. After checked in, we had our lunch! After lunch, I took panamol and logenzes. I had an hour of rest to make sure I felt better before heading to Wielderhoes for rehearsal. I have many great friends who care for me. They kept asking me for my temperature and asked me to drink more water. They are great! During rehearsal, we walked down to plus (named for supermarket) to buy drinks and snacks.. I bought 6 1.5L of mineral water and when I opened up the first bottle and took a sip, I don't feel like drinking anymore cause I got the carbonated ones.. A few of them got beer cause the beer there are cheap.. really cheap..

After rehearsal, we head back to hotel. Didn't manage to chill(Beer and chit chatting) cause we were so tired. I slept after bathing..


Day 2,

Woke up at 730am and bused down to Wielderhoes for rehearsal. Had sectional in the morning with 2 new friends joined us. One from Germany and the other from Netherlands. After sectional we had Brass sectional and then lunch. After lunch, we had full band combined. We had dinner and full band combined again. During the dinner, we head down to plus again for beer. The beer there are nice. I love the beer there although I don't drink beer in Singapore. Beer can makes me play better. haha. I felt I can play much better after drinking beer. After the full band combined, we head back to hotel.

At night, we had a drinking session. It was good! Had fun just chilling around with friends. I drank a bottle from Colin. I'm not really sure what's the name for the drink. haha. but its not bad..


Day 3,

Head down to Wielderhoes in the morning. However rehearsal was short cause is a Flea Market Day over there every Wednesday. There are many stalls outside Wielderhoes. There's a really cute looking ice cream van! Took a few pictures from there. After the short rehearsal, we went down to Aachen(Germany) for Italian food buffet. Supposedly have to go for the guided tour but we didn't follow the guided tour and so we shop our own! Was really tired! walking around the area but didn't managed to get a single stuff from there.

Back to hotel and had dinner. After dinner, went back room to rest. It's really tiring. Didn't drink with them.


Day 4,

Head down to Wielderhoes in the morning again for rehearsal. We also rehears the pieces for Cultural night which held at night. Done with rehearsal and head back to hotel at 1pm for lunch and a few of us helped to cut Ba Gua for the dutch folks. I took a short nap after lunch cause not enough scissors. haha.

We head down back to Wielderhoes to perform for the residents there. There were TV crew and reporters to film us. The people there are great audiences, they gave us lots of encouragement and they are really supportive. love them. We had Ba Gua and Curry Chicken after the performance. Its good to eat local delights in cooling weather. Its really very very cold. I was shivering.

Enjoyed the night! Its good!

Day 5,

Today is our last rehearsal at Wielderhoes and is intensive. We had rehearsal from 1030am til 930pm. I think its 930pm cannot really remember. During the rehearsal, Hardy Martens helped us with our pieces. He's really good. Its really miracle to listen to the band played with his helped. Our set pieces sounded much better. And so, rehearsal rehearsal and rehearsal.

Backed to hotel after rehearsal. Went down to dining area and chill awhile with the rest and they started playing truth and dare. I went to my room to sleep when they started playing. It was tired after whole day of rehearsal.


Day 6,

Bus sent us to Kerkrade Rodalhol in the morning. Some of us went to watch the band competition and we went walking around the area. According to Andi and Shaune, the CDs and Scores are cheap there. They bought many CDs and Scores.

Went back to hotel at 2pm, took a short nap and got ready for a concert with a French band. The journey took us an hour. enjoyed the concert. it was great! we took many photos there too.

The French band is good. Old man can play fugal horn. and its nice.


Day 7,

Woke up early in the morning, prepare myself and breakfast. After breakfast, we left to Rodalho for the competition. Its our judgement today. We settled down in a small room and started to warm up among ourselves. We got to tune in a big hall which sounds bad! Really bad! After tuning, we went onstage. We played and left the stage.

We played 3 pieces namely Elgin Sound(Warm up piece), Atmospheres(Set piece) and Butterfly Lovers(Choice Piece).

The Butterfly Lovers really touched my heart. I nearly cried when Hui Ling said the monologue. And when she started the solo part, I felt pain. She's really a good Er Hu player. Its really touching.

We got a Gold with 85.58. Photo taking session again. We took many photos... We were very happy with the results.. =) We went to shop again after that. There got nothing to shop. So we went to a tentage to chill and at the same time we listened to the other bands.

We head back to hotel for dinner. We had a mini celebration in our hotel. Wine and beer to chill. A few of the players from there came to join us. They went back at around 11pm and we continued with our chilling session with Ba Gua and Chips.

After awhile, Shu Ling(My roomie) felt tired and we went back to our room and we go to bed after that.


Day 8,

Woke up at 630am. Got prepared and breakfast. Left to Amsterdam at 8am. Gave the owner a hug. Its really warm staying there. Mrs Chua told us we will come back 4 years later for the next WMC. I would be glad to come back. They are really nice and warm. We are like a family to them. Took a big family photo outside the hotel. It was sad to leave the hotel.

2 hours journey down to Amsterdam. We went to Cheese Factory. The cheese there are nice esp Smoked Cheese. Very nice! Bought a few of souvenirs from there. Then we head to Amsterdam town area. We had our lunch there by ourselves. There are many interesting sight seeing. Vodka Museum, Macau Casino and even Sex Museum. Have to pay 3 euro entrance fee for the Sex Museum. So expensive.

Took a boat ride around Amsterdam like the one we saw in Clarke Quay. haha. Nearly fell asleep during the ride. Some of them fell asleep. After the boat ride, we had free and easy. We walked around the street. Saw a crazy man punching a raw chicken with his fist and started tearing. -_- they had basking around the area too. It would be great to see basking around Singapore. its nice.

We met at 630 and head to nH Schiphol Airport Hotel. We checked in and had a night there. It was great sleeping there. How I wish we can have more days there. Had chilling session at the lobby cafe, had red wine. The wine taste great! The best among all that I had. I don't drink wine seriously but when I tried a sip, I want more. It really taste great.

Not really high after drinking. Still sober. We had another chilling session in Shaune's room together with Mr and Mrs Chua. Suddenly some of us felt hungry and we head to McDonald's. The McDonald's is just behind our hotel. its quite near but the weather was really dam super duper cold. I was shivering hard. Really too cold. After eating we head back to hotel to join the rest but they were all gone. And we got back to our own room and sleep.


Day 9,

Its free and easy day for us. Checked out at 9am. Took a shuttle bus which cost 5 euro to the airport and took a train which cost 7.40 euro to Amsterdam town area. Went to most of the shops to shop for souvenirs but didn't manage to get a lot of them cause not enough money. Just nice to get for my family members. So sorry for my friends. Didn't get anything for you guys. The things there are very expensive. Shop until 430pm, we head back to the hotel.

Got all the luggage and instruments up to the bus then bus to the airport and check in.

Took the flight back to Singapore.


Miss everything there. Miss the weather, the cows, the food, the rehearsals, the performance esp the company. Miss them all!!

have been slacking for a week at home... no job currently..

just had my audition yesterday.... i think it should be ok... =))

hopefully i can pass the audition then i will be able to go Netherland for WMC (World Music Contest) =))


just now i went for my final theory @ ubi... =) PASSED!!! HURRAY!!

although its the second time i took the final theory.. but i still feel very happy... =))

It had been months since I last update my blog....

The most recent special occasion was the Valentine's Day... Went to Bugis to shop for my aunt's birthday present with YL. In the end, we gave her shopping voucher. After that, went to catch "Looking for a star" acted by Andy Lau and Shu Qi. Its a comedy and romance show. After the show, we went to Suntec for dinner. Had crystal jade... After that, we went back home.. and..... He gave me a surprise... =)) He bought me a England Jersey.. =)) So dam happy.. =))

And so ya... That was the most recent occasion.. Besides that, I went to meet up with the Philips Gang on the Eve of Valentine's Day, went to zoo with YL and lastly the Chinese New Year.. =)

Chinese New Year Celebration......

Last Friday (20th Feb), I went to watch Lin You Jia's concert... Overall not that bad. I think he's still young and lack of experience on the stage.. but the songs he sang were nice.. his vocal can really melt my heart... some of the songs he sang remind me of something.. And he can dance.. the way he dance was so funny.. haha.. His concert special guest was SHE. They were great... their dance and vocal were terrific.. they made the crowd dam high..

This week will be my last week working in Tao Nan School as a Multimedia Educator. After this week, will need to do job hunting. I will go schools around my area to ask if they need any relief teacher or contract based teacher.

I applied for both NIE and NUS recently. Waiting for their reply at NIE.... I hope NIE will accept me, if not I will continue my studies in NUS.... No other choice... I wanna get a degree.... May God Bless ME!!

This Sunday I will be having audition at Mus'Art. Need to play 4 pieces and 1 Grade 5 and above piece. Actually I'm unprepared for the audition and I hate to go for audition unprepared. That kinda feeling really sucky. No time to practice at all..... And I can't even find myself a Grade 5 piece. How to audition?

Lost of confidence! =(

haven been blogging... so i guess this post will be abit long to keep my friends updated..

got a gift during christmas.. i love it alot.. =)) stayed at home the whole day on christmas til night time then meet yilong for movie... caught Ip Man at the same place with my brother and his wife.. same time, same cinema but different hall..

its a nice show.. i would rate 4/5.... =))

after the show, went back home to fetch my aunt and grandma.. then we went to changi airport to chill... =) not a bad christmas though... =)

on new year eve, went to marina bay for the countdown with eunice, cs and yl.. eunice bought the $19 tix for us..

er... its quite boring there actually.. what really nice is the fireworks only.. the rest really really sucks... its not really as crowded as the one at vivo city... most of the performers at marina were from channel 5.. thaufik, hardy, ash -_- etc.. dun really enjoyed myself during the show...

only the fireworks thats nice.. =) after the countdown, we went back home..
